Los Angeles Center for Digital Art Presents Photoshop Workshop Photographers

This class is designed for artists and photographers who want to explore the possibilities offered by digital image making. Attendees will discover how to use Adobe Photoshop for the creation of still imagery, image/text artwork, digital collage and digitally processed images. They will also learn how to prepare images for print, Web and video applications. Topics include paint tools, selections, editing, text, transformations, patterns, adjustments, layers, filters, palettes, file types/image modes and scanning.

HypeFest 2004

HypeFest is a unique festival that links independent ideas with commercial creativity, boasting an attendance of more than 1,000 filmgoers, which showcases more than 80 original short-subject works from filmmakers around the world. The weekend-long screenings and festivities conclude with an awards show. HypeFest is accepting short films (40 minutes or less), commercials, music videos and promos for competition screening. Gnomon School of Visual Effects will be holding an Alias Users Group meeting. The meet and greet will begin at 5:30 pm with the presentation starting at 6:30 pm. First, Eric Hanson, author, and Eric Pender, contributor, of MAYA 5 KILLER TIPS; and Erick Miller, co-author of INSIDE MAYA 5 will show tips and tricks in Maya 5. Then Digital Domain's technical and sequence lead Darren Hendler will discuss Digital Domain's use of set extensions and how they created the digital crocodile using Maya.
