Marvel has announced a Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon series that will air on Disney XD, joining Avengers Assemble, Ultimate Spider-Man, and the channel's other Marvel animated series.

The series was revealed at the Marvel Animation panel at this past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con International with a one-minute trailer that prominently featured Guardians characters Star Lord and Rocket Raccoon.

The lineup for the series will very likely closely resemble that of the Guardians film, which premieres next week. No word yet on when the Guardians series would premiere.

Also shown was footage from upcoming seasons of all of Marvel Animation’s current shows: Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., and Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors. The new seasons are all set to begin this Fall.
