The Hollywood Film Festival is holding the "Sell/Pitch Your Story" event for anyone with an idea/story, screenplay or book. The event will allow guests to pitch one-on-one to Hollywood executives and agents, guaranteeing attendees multiple pitches and no waiting in line.
Now in its 28th year, the TV Festival features prominent industry voices. Using discussion, debate and often entertainment, the festival offers more than 50 individual sessions. They cover specific industry concerns on a wide range of topics from policy to program-making issues. The event also features keynote lectures, Channel of the Year Awards, preview screenings, masterclasses and networking parties. This year, the event expects more than 1,500 delegates to attend. The keynote speakers will be Tony Ball, ceo BSkyB, Chris Albrecht, chairman/ceo HBO and Greg Dyke, director general BBC.
The 6th Annual DVD Awards is the premiere awards ceremony for the DVD industry. Hosted by famed film critic Leonard Maltin, the event celebrates the art of making DVDs. This year the event will feature a Viewer's Choice Award. DVD publishers, film studios, production companies, mastering facilities and individual producers are invited to participate in the awards program honoring the best in DVD. Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival - SICAF 2003, the most popular festival in Asia, will run August 12-17, 2003 with new and various programs in the city of Seoul where history and the modern day blend beautifully together. With special programs and official contests for $50,000 in prize money, SICAF 2003 is waiting for the filmmakers around the world to participate in the festival.

British grandmasters of animation Ray Harryhausen, Oliver Postgate and Bob Godfrey are set to share the stage at the fourth annual Animated Encounters at the Watershed Media Center in Bristol, England May 9-10, 2003. Last year more than 5,000 attended the festival offering a mix of international and U.K. premieres, industry seminars and events. The audience will vote for their favorite film that will then become a nominee for the European Cartoon D'Or film award at Annecy. More than 50 films will be screened in addition to all five BAFTA nominees in the short animation category.
The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood will present the 1st Festival of Japanese Anime from May 2-14, 2003. The Cries for Peace competition invites you to enter your pictures or short film for the chance of winning an Award and recognition for your work. The competition aims to collect positive expressions of peace. Selected images collected will be showcased as part of the London Week of Peace 2008 and the winner will be chosen by a public vote August 15-September 9, 2008. The competition aims to be a positive response to the far too many unfortunate stories in the media about young people and crime, particularly violent crime leading to fatalities.

In early January 2007, Paul Dutton, our Assistant Director, will conduct a whirlwind recruitment tour of Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, Copenhagen, the Animation Workshop in Viborg (Denmark), Stockholm and Oslo. Paul will be looking for animators to work on The Illusionist, a 2D animated feature adapted by Sylvain Chomet from an original script by French comic genius, Jacques Tati.
