The Paula Rosenthal-created preschool series makes Willa official in a special that hits Disney+ August 7, with 'Howl-O-Ween' and 'Friendsgiving' specials to follow; Ready to Su-Purr Roar music video
Willa the Wildcat is now a full member of the SuperKitties, the Disney Jr. preschool series about a team of superhero kittens. She was promoted in a full-length special that premiered yesterday and reaches Disney+ today, August 7.
In The New SuperKitty, the recurring villain Cat Burglar (Justin Guarini) joins forces with the Glamsters (Ginnifer Goodwin and Utkarsh Ambudkar) to take over the town of Kittydale. The team tests Willa against them, then asks her to join.
Willa is not a new character - she arrived in Season 3 as a wildcat ally, voiced by Thea Gallagher. Series executive producer Sarah Mullervy discussed that season's trip to Willa's jungle home in an October 2025 AWN interview. What is new is the promotion.
Disney released a Ready to Su-Purr Roar music video, with Willa on the team. An extended version of the song arrives today:
Two more full-length specials will debut this fall. Howl-O-Ween Charm turns a band of trickster spirits called Trixters loose in Kittydale after the Howl-o-ween Cat's charm is stolen, and the team has to get them back inside it. In Friendsgiving Feast, the Glamsters steal treats and decorations and the SuperKitties and Willa race to save the holiday, with Jenifer Lewis guesting as Glammy, the grandmother of a character named Evie, and Henry Winkler as Uncle Tony.
The five kittens - Ginny, Sparks, Buddy, Bitsy and Willa - work to make Kittydale a kinder place. Season 3's regular voice cast includes Emma Berman as Ginny, Cruz Flateau as Sparks, Landon Chase Dubois as Buddy, Pyper Braun as Bitsy and Gallagher as Willa. Returning guest voices include James Monroe Iglehart as Mr. Puppypaws, Ruth Pferdehirt as Lab Rat, Isabella Crovetti as Zsa Zsa, Pamela Adlon as Aunt Lola and Anika Noni Rose as Cousin Sassy.
Emmy winner Paula Rosenthal (Peter Rabbit) created the series. Mullervy (Peter Rabbit), Kirk Van Wormer (Transformers: Prime) and Audu Paden (Monster High) executive produce. Sony Pictures Television - Kids produces in association with Disney Jr.
All three seasons stream on Disney+. Disney puts viewing since the debut at 33.2 billion minutes across linear and streaming, counting series and shorts together, with nearly half a billion YouTube views, and cites Nielsen data ranking it a top 10 most-watched streaming series among girls ages two to five.
Just Play has SuperKitties toys at retail now, with apparel, costumes and books from Disney Consumer Products. Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties, a stage show where kids decorate cupcakes, returns for a one-day engagement during the Disney Jr. Let's Play! Party at Disney California Adventure on August 13.
