The ‘Frozen’ head of animation returns to the director’s chair in the original animated feature, which follows a young girl who journeys across Italy with a reluctant truth-telling folklore creature.
Set to compete in Annecy’s Contrechamp and screen at the Cannes Film Market, the hand-drawn 2D Pakistani feature follows the relationship of a father and son in the face of war.
In-progress animated features will be presented to distributors, investors and sales reps for the third consecutive year.
2017 Cannes showcase features five animated films currently in production, including Czech Republic-German-French co-production ‘Even Mice Belong in Heaven,’ Peru’s ‘Nuna: The Last Myth of the Wamani,’ Brazil’s ‘Nimuendajú’ and ‘Tito and the Birds,’ and Spain’s ‘Memoirs of a Man in Pajamas.’
