After grossing almost $1.9 billion in its Chinese release, the hugely popular 3DCG film, which features the voice of Michelle Yeoh, will be released in IMAX and 3D in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand starting August 22.
A24 and CMC Pictures have teamed to bring an English-language version of Ne Zha 2 to theaters in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand starting August 22. The release will be presented in IMAX, 3D, and other premium large formats. The 3DCG film broke all box office records with its Chinese run, generating almost $1.9 billion.
The English-language version will feature the voice talents of Michelle Yeoh. Written and directed by Yang Yu, Ne Zha 2 follows a rebellious young boy with wild, uncontrolled powers born to mortal parents. Now he's faced with an ancient force intent on destroying humanity, he must grow up to become the hero the world needs.
