Adult Swim Sets ‘SMILING FRIENDS’ Season 3, ‘Haha, You Clowns’ Premieres

Pim, Charlie and Flint continue going bonkers in all-new episodes starting October 5, while Joe Cappa’s new series, based on his SMALLS shorts about 3 doting teens and their tenderhearted dad, debuts October 19; new episodes of each will stream the following day on HBO Max.

Adult Swim has announced that SMILING FRIENDS Season 3 will debut on October 5, while the new comedy Haha, You Clowns will premiere October 19. New episodes of both quarter-hour adult animated series will stream the following day on HBO Max.

“We love shows that make you smile and go ‘haha’- and that’s what you’ll get with SMILING FRIENDS and Haha, You Clowns,” said Michael Ouweleen, president, Adult Swim. “It’s right there in the titles. While totally different from each other, these two shows are united in that they’re hilarious, gently unnerving, and sometimes even profound.”

SMILING FRIENDS Season 3 finds Pim, Charlie, Flint, and the whole gang going absolutely bonkers once again, diving headfirst into their ultimate quest to spread joy upon the land.

One of Adult Swim’s best performing shows on HBO Max, SMILING FRIENDS has already been picked up for Seasons 4 and 5 ahead of its Season 3 premiere. The quirky series about a company tasked with bringing happiness to a bizarre yet colorful world is co-created by Michael Cusack (YOLO: Crystal Fantasy) and Zach Hadel (Hellbenders) and animated by Princess Bento Studio.

Created by Joe Cappa, Haha, You Clowns celebrates wholesome family programming. Join the Campbell boys, three doting teenagers and their tenderhearted dad, as they learn to navigate life in the wake of their mother’s death, sensing her presence in everyday adventures.

Originally an Adult Swim SMALLS short series, a first look at Haha, You Clowns debuted at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Both series are produced by Williams Street, Adult Swim’s in-house production company.
