American Red Cross Launches ‘Looney Tunes’ T-shirt Blood Donation Promotion

The non-profit humanitarian organization has teamed with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products on the blood drive with a limited-edition giveaway for eligible participants who donate blood through July 12.

The American Red Cross and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have teamed up on a limited-edition “American Red Cross x Looney Tunes” T-shirt giveaway for individuals who make appointments and donate blood through July 12. Appointments can be made at RedCrossBlood.org.

The first-of-its-kind partnership blends the appeal of the famed Looney Tunes characters with a call to help ensure patients have access to lifesaving blood when they need it. The T-shirt features iconic characters Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Road Runner, Tweety, Sylvester, Wiley E. Coyote and Daffy Duck. The campaign also coincides with America’s 250th anniversary, highlighting a tradition of service, generosity and community.

“For 250 years, Americans have stepped up when their communities needed them,” said Darren Irby, executive director of national brand partnerships for the American Red Cross. “Giving blood is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to carry that spirit forward.”

The promotion is the latest in a series of American Red Cross partnerships designed to drive blood donations nationwide. In recent years, the organization has collaborated with entertainment partners including Metallica, Peanuts, Friends, Pac-Man, the NFL, Tetris, The Matrix, Godzilla x Kong, HBO’s Game of Thrones, Neve Campbell and Scream.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to disaster victims; supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; distributes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans, military members and their families. The nonprofit organization depends on volunteers and public generosity to deliver its mission.

The zany world of Looney Tunes debuts as theatrical shorts nearly a century ago and has since grown into a global pop culture franchise spanning feature films, television series, games, consumer products, themed entertainment and more.

Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s Revenue & Strategy division, extends the company’s entertainment brands and franchises through global licensing and merchandising programs. WBDGCP works with licensees on toy, fashion, home décor and publishing programs inspired by franchises from Warner Bros.’ film, television, animation and games studios, HBO, Discovery, DC, Cartoon Network, HGTV, Eurosport, Adult Swim and more.
