Dropout Launches First Animated Series, ‘Toonout’

Comedy streaming platform, formerly known as CollegeHumor, expands into scripted animation with the shortform series, featuring 25 episodes rolling out through February 2027.

Comedy streaming service Dropout has announced its first move into scripted animation with the launch of its original shortform series Toonout, which debuts on March 24. The series marks the first expansion of the platform’s original programming slate into animated content.

A 25-episode release is planned, with new installments dropping every other Tuesday through February 23, 2027. The first six episodes will feature animation from Raj Brueggemann (Big City Greens, Twelve Forever), Victor Courtright, co-executive producer of ThunderCats Roar and Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Jonathon Wallach (Big City Greens), Kay Hayes (Monsters at Work, Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure), Violaine Briat (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), and Matt Braly, creator of Amphibia.

Dropout launched in 2018 after evolving from the digital comedy brand CollegeHumor. The subscription service focuses on independent, ad-free comedy programming and produces original series including Game Changer, Dimension 20, and Very Important People…

The Dropout app is available across a range of platforms, including Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Chromecast, Samsung Smart TVs, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.
