Illumination and Nintendo have just released the final trailer and poster for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, their new 3DCG adventure comedy sequel to 2023’s hit, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, once again based on the world of Super Mario Bros. The film will debut April 1 in the U.S. and many global markets, followed by a Japanese release on April 24, with select territories opening throughout April.
New voice cast members just announced include Donald Glover as Yoshi, Issa Rae as Honey Queen, and Luis Guzmán as Wart. They join returning cast members Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Brie Larson as Rosalina.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic return to direct from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score.

The film follows the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, released in 2023, which grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
Both the 2023 film and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The film is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures.
