Line Friends Releases ‘BT21 The Journey’ Animated Series

The show follows the separate journeys of its 7 protagonists as they seek to restore the balance of the universe.

Line Friends has announced the release of BT21 The Journey, the third show in the BT21 animated series, which follows the separate journeys of its seven protagonists as they seek to restore the balance of the universe.

The BT21 animated series expands upon the universe of BT21’s original storylines, which have accumulated 530 million views since its first season, which introduced the origins and daily lives of BT21 as well as of their rivals, AT21. The second season follows BT21's struggles to debut as a universal superstar, or “Universtar.” Two-and-a-half years later, BT21 The Journey presents a deeper narrative with “laughter, tears, and the warmth of true friendship as the BT21 members endeavor to spread love throughout space to restore its starlight.”

“This BT21 The Journey animated series is designed to further communicate with BT21 fans by capturing the individuality and growth of each character in a scope that extends beyond Earth to outer space,” stated a Line Friends official. “We will provide a variety of experiences that encompass not only animation, but also online and offline activations starting with the Myeong-dong pop-up store in June. We invite everyone to join BT21 on their special journey.”

A pop-up inspired by the franchise is being held in the Line Friends Square Myeong-dong store from June 5-29. The LINE FRIENDS SQUARE stores on Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, and Times Square, will run BT21 The Journey immersive retail experiences from May 27-July 5, and will offer exclusive collectible BT21 items and activities. The experience will end with a screening party of the fully completed season.
