We learn that it’s time for Grogu to strap in and save the snacks for after dinner; we’re one step closer to launch date for Jon Favreau’s new film, based on the hit Disney+ series 'The Mandalorian,' that blasts into theaters on May 22.
Lucasfilm and Disney have just dropped an official trailer and images for the long awaited all-new cinematic entry in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver, the adventure hits theaters May 22, 2026.
In the film, the evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu. The film is produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce, with music composed by Ludwig Göransson. So far, we know ILM is handling the VFX along with Clear Angle Studios and The Eisley Company.
In the trailer, we learn something quite critical… Grogu really likes his snacks.
