Disney's animated MEET THE ROBINSONS will screen in the studio's proprietary digital 3-D format during its engagement at Hollywood's El Capitan, March 30-May 20. The Disney Digital 3-D engagement marks the largest ever for the studio --more than 600 screens nationwide.
On the same program, for the first time theatrically in 54 years, will be Disney's classic 1953 3-D short, WORKING FOR PEANUTS, starring Donald Duck and Chip & Dale. Plus there will be an exclusive animation exhibit in the El Capitan's lobby, which will provide unique insights into the making of MEET THE ROBINSONS.
Walt Disney Pictures' MEET THE ROBINSONS follows the adventures of Lewis, a boy-genius with a love of gizmos and gadgets, and an undying hope of finding the family he never knew. When he encounters a mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson, he's in for the time-travel of his life as he is whisked off to meet a family unlike any other -- the sublimely fun and futuristic Robinsons -- who will help him discover a series of heartfelt secrets about his own limitless potential.
MEET THE ROBINSONS features the voice talents of Angela Bassett, Tom Selleck, Harland Williams, Laurie Metcalf, Adam West, Ethan Sandler and Tom Kenny, among others. The film was directed by Stephen Anderson and produced by Dorothy McKim. The screenplay is by Jon Bernstein and Michelle Spitz; and Don Hall, Nathan Greno, Aurian Redson, Joe Mateo and Anderson, based on the acclaimed book A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON by Williams Joyce. Two-time Academy Award nominee Danny Elfman wrote the score. The stereoscopic supervisor was Phil McNally.
To commemorate the occasion, Disney's Soda Fountain will also be offering a special sundae called the "T-Rex Treat." It consists of two scoops of chocolate chip ice cream, layered with hot fudge and marshmallow toppings, with chopped snickers and dinosaur sprinkles added for good measure.
Guests will also have a chance to have breakfast with Chip & Dale (reservations required) at a special character breakfast preceding the 10:00 am showing at Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store.
Regular showtimes are 10:00 am, 12:25 pm, 2:50 pm, 5:15 pm, 7:40 pm, and 9:55 pm.
