Netflix has announced that the upcoming 2D-animated adult comedy series Alley Cats will debut in 2026.
The slacker sitcom created by Ricky Gervais follows the trials and tribulations of a group of feral British cats from all walks of society, who seek companionship while ruminating on everyday life.
The series cast includes Gervais, Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, Natalie Cassidy, and Tony Way.
“I play a fat, lazy, rude, opinionated creature with fangs, who’s not as smart or brave as he thinks he is,” said Gervais. “So quite a stretch.”
Gervais directs alongside co-director Elliot Dear. Blink Industries serves as the animation studio. Gervais executive produces for Derek Productions with Steven Hamilton Shaw for Shush Creative.
