The hand-drawn 2D Pakistani feature, which follows the relationship of a father and son in the face of war, will debut in U.S. theaters on August 15.
A new trailer has dropped for the hand-drawn 2D animated Pakistani feature The Glassworker, which debuts in over 250 U.S. theaters on August 15.
Set in a place loosely based on Pakistan, The Glassworker follows the young Vincent and his father Thomas, the owner of a fine glass workshop. When war breaks out and an army colonel arrives in their town with his violinist daughter Alliz, the relationship between the father and son is tested.
Written and directed by composer-turned-filmmaker Usman Riaz, the film was produced entirely in Karachi by Mano Animation Studios.

Riaz produces alongside Khizer Riaz and Manuel Cristobal, with Apoorva Bakshi executive producing through Awedacious Originals. Watermelon Pictures acts as U.S. distributor.
The Glassworker was Pakistan’s official submission for Best International Feature at the 97th Academy Awards — a major honor, as each country is permitted to submit only one film for consideration.
