Lamorne Morris will voice the iconic, lasagna-loving orange cat in the new show inspired by the original comic strip by Jim Davis.
Paramount+ has announced a new original 2D-animated series, Garfield (W/T), from Nickelodeon Animation Studios, starring Emmy Award-winning actor, comedian and podcast host Lamorne Morris as the voice of the lasagna-loving orange cat.
Inspired by Jim Davis’ original comic strip, the series follows the iconic feline with episodes centered on Garfield’s signature sarcasm and laid-back attitude.
Morris won an Emmy for his standout performance in FX’s Fargo; he will next star in Prime Video’s highly anticipated Spider-Noir and is currently in production on Jumanji 4. He is also the host of “The Lamorning After” podcast, which he co-hosts with Kyle Shevrin as well as New Girl rewatch podcast, “The Mess Around” with former cast mate Hannah Simone. Morris is represented by Entertainment 360, CAA, The Lede Company and Myman Greenspan.
The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation, with Dave H. Johnson (Middlemost Post) and John Trabbic III (SpongeBob SquarePants, Middlemost Post) serving as executive producers.
With more than 200 million daily comic readers and millions of social media followers, the global Garfield brand has entertained fans for more than 47 years. Since Garfield’s integration into the Paramount Products & Experiences portfolio, the property has expanded through global partnerships across apparel, toys, publishing, food and pet products, in addition to a number of animated and live-action feature films, most recently 2024’s The Garfield Movie that starred Chris Pratt in the title role.
