Starring Nicolas Cage and based on the Marvel ‘Spider-Man Noir’ comic, the series follows an aging, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York; debuts next month on MGM+’s linear channel, then globally on the streamer.
How droll can you sound in breathless exhale, “Wow, my Spidey senses are tingling…” Nicolas Cage is set to hit the small screen next month, and we’ve finally got a trailer to tease his newest role.
Prime Video has dropped not one but two trailers for its upcoming new series, Spider-Noir. One in black & white, the other in color.
The live-action show is based on the Marvel “Spider-Man Noir” comic, tells the story of Ben Reilly (Cage), a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.
And you guessed it – it will be watchable in both “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color.”
The cast includes Cage, Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, with Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson. Guest stars include Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.
Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) directs and executive produces the first two episodes. Oren Uziel (The Lost City, 22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel’s The Punisher, Shantaram) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Uziel and Lightfoot developed the series with the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Lord and Miller executive produce for their shingle Lord Miller along with Aditya Sood and Dan Shear. Pascal also serves as an executive producer via Pascal Pictures. Spider-Noir is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video.
Hnedel Maximore serves as the visual effects supervisor for Amazon Studios. VFX studios include Alchemy 24, Barnstorm VFX, Cinesite, CoSA VFX, Gentle Giant Studios, ILM, Ingenuity Studios, and Version Zero.
Spider-Noir will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel on May 25 before rolling out globally on Prime Video on May 27 across more than 240 countries and territories.
