Prime Video Renews 'Hazbin Hotel' for 5th and Final Season

Vivienne Medrano’s hit animated musical comedy about the princess of Hell’s attempts to rehabilitate demons to reduce overpopulation in her kingdom will conclude its run with a planned sendoff.

Unlike so many creators who find out in the trades their shows will not be picked up, Vivienne Medrano will get to finish up her hit animated musical comedy Hazbin Hotel on her own terms. The show, produced by A24 and FOX Entertainment's Bento Box Entertainment, has just been renewed by Prime Video for a fifth and final season. Streaming in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, the series secured renewals for Seasons 3 and 4 back in July 2024. Season 2 premiered this past October 29; Medrano directed all episodes and serves as executive producer alongside Dana Tafoya-Cameron.

Hazbin Hotel follows Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. After a yearly extermination imposed by angels, she opens a hotel in the hopes that patrons will be "checking out" into Heaven. While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner Vaggi, and their first test subject, adult-film star Angel Dust, stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the "Radio Demon" reaches out to assist Charlie in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality.

Here’s the Season 5 announcement:

Created by Medrano, the series is based on her popular animated pilot released on YouTube in 2019, which drew more than 120 million views and built a global fan base. The show combines adult humor, distinctive characters, and catchy musical numbers within a “devilishly” stylized animated world.

"I'm so thankful for how Prime Video has championed our vision at SpindleHorse, and I'm grateful for their partnership and commitment to bringing Hazbin Hotel to its epic conclusion," said Medrano. "I'm so excited for fans to see how this story ends."

"From its inception, Hazbin Hotel has pushed the boundaries of adult animation through bold storytelling, vibrant artistry, and unapologetic heart," said Melissa Wolfe, Head of Animation, Amazon MGM Studios. "Vivienne Medrano and her team have built an extraordinary world that has captivated fans around the globe, and we're thrilled to give the series—and its passionate community—a fitting, unforgettable final chapter."

The franchise expanded beyond the series in 2025 with Hazbin Hotel: Live on Broadway, a concert event hosted on October 20 by series lead Erika Henningsen at New York's Majestic Theatre. Produced by RadicalMedia, the event featured performances of songs from the first two seasons and is now available to stream on Prime Video.

Prime Video also announced that the first half of the 15-episode third season of Helluva Boss will premiere in Fall 2026, followed by the second half in 2027 after a mid-season hiatus. Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel are part of the “wickedly popular” Hellaverse universe.
