Prime Video Sets ‘Kevin’ Premiere, Reveals Title Sequence

Watch the titles with an original song by star Jason Schwartzman; all eight episodes of the adult animated comedy about a cat that breaks up with his humans, from Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, debuts April 20.

Prime Video has just set an April 20 premiere date for its adult animated comedy Kevin and released the series’ title sequence that features the original song, “I’m Coming Home,” performed by show star Jason Schwartzman and co-written by Schwartzman and series composer, Dan Romer. All eight episodes of season one will debut exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Loosely inspired by a real-life break-up and the cat who was caught in the middle, Kevin centers on a housecat trying to find where he belongs. Following the unexpected split of his human “owners,” Kevin breaks up with his humans, relocating to a local pet rescue in Astoria, Queens, where a chaotic group of animals helps him figure out what he wants out of life.

The series stars Schwartzman (Isle of Dogs, The French Dispatch) as Kevin, a housecat who decides to try life without people, and Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus, Emily the Criminal) as Dana, one half of the human couple he leaves behind. Additional series regulars include Whoopi Goldberg (The Lion King, Sister Act) as Cupcake, John Waters (Hairspray, Liar Mouth) as Armando, and Aparna Nancherla (The Great North, Bob’s Burgers) as Judy — Kevin’s new cat roommates at a local pet rescue run by Seth, played by Gil Ozeri (Big Mouth, Monsters), and his dog Brandi, played by Amy Sedaris (BoJack Horseman, At Home with Amy Sedaris).

Kevin is created and executive produced by Plaza and Joe Wengert, who also serves as showrunner. Dan Murphy, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski, and Antonio Canobbio also executive produce. The series is produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.
