The trio join previously announced Peter Dinklage and returning stars, including Sydney Chandler, on the Noah Hawley, FX and Hulu hit series’ sophomore season production, now underway in London.
Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell and Jerome Flynn have joined the Season 2 cast of FX’s Alien: Earth, created for television by Noah Hawley, which is now in production in London and will eventually stream on FX and Hulu, with international availability on Disney+. Spruell reunites with Hawley after previously working with him on Fargo. No release date was announced.
The newly announced trio join previously revealed Season 2 cast member Peter Dinklage as well as returning star Sydney Chandler and an expansive international cast that includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Moe Bar-El, Sandra Yi Sencindiver and more.
Ullman is best known for her American series The Tracey Ullman Show, which launched The Simpsons and aired from 1987-1990. Her honors include seven Emmys, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, three CableACE Awards, eight American Comedy Awards and a BAFTA. Her credits also include Into the Woods, Howards End, Tracey Ullman’s Show, Tracey Breaks the News, Mrs. America, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Steve.
Spruell’s recent credits include HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, BBC series Dear England and the upcoming sixth film in Blumhouse and Sony’s Insidious franchise, which is slated for theatrical release on August 21. He will also appear in Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars, slated to premiere on August 28, and recently wrapped production on Marius D’Gasco’s Tidepools. He is also set to star in Jordan Canning’s Oddly Flowers.
Spruell’s film credits include H Is for Hawk, The Hanging Sun, The Informer, Outlaw King, The Lady in the Van, The Martian, Legend, Taken 3, Good People, Snow White & The Huntsman, Defiance, The Hurt Locker and K-19: The Widowmaker. His television credits include Fargo, The Gold, The North Water, Small Axe, Doctor Who, Liar, I Am Nicola, The Bastard Executioner and Luther.
Flynn is best known to contemporary audiences for his role on HBO’s Game of Thrones. He recently starred opposite Harrison Ford in Paramount+’s Yellowstone spinoff series 1923, and his credits also includes Black Mirror, BAFTA-nominated Ripper Street and John Wick 3.
In Season 1 of Alien: Earth, the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, and Wendy, played by Chandler, and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.
Set in 2120, the show takes place at a time when Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. Cyborgs and synthetics exist alongside humans, but the balance changes when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks hybrids, humanoid robots infused with human consciousness. The first hybrid prototype, Wendy, marks a new dawn in the race for immortality, and after Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship crashes into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have imagined.
