The 3DCG, stop-motion, and 2D animation hybrid film, which follows a daughter who attempts to finish her late father’s novel from the inside, debuted May 6 across the U.S. and Canada.
Vision Films’ animated feature film, Dalia & The Red Book, was released yesterday, May 6, on all major streaming and cable platforms across the U.S. and Canada.
In the film, when the daughter of a famous author finds her late father's unfinished novel, she is drawn into its magical world. She soon teams up with a heroic goat to ensure the story is finished as her father intended, before she is stuck in their world forever.
“Dalia & The Red Book presents a universal message about family and friendship through its distinctive and uniquely creative storytelling,” said Lise Romanoff, CEO and Managing Director of Vision Films. “It's an exciting ride for all ages.”
The film premiered at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, was released theatrically in over 60 territories, and was nominated for Best Animation at the PLATINO Awards.
Dalia & The Red Book was acquired at the Berlinale in a deal with FilmSharks. David Bisbano serves as writer and director. The project leverages a combination of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine with 3DCG, stop-motion, and 2D animation.
Vista Sur produces alongside Mi Perro Producciones, FilmSharks, Doce Studios, Mr. Miyagi Films, Golem, Cine2, Signos Studios, and Matte.
