WIA 10th World Summit Set for June 22 at Annecy

Women in Animation celebrates a decade of its annual festival conference day at the Impérial Palace Hotel that looks ahead to the future of animation, gaming, and VFX.

WIA returns to Annecy for its 10th World Summit, set for tomorrow June 22 at 9:15 am at the Impérial Palace Hotel, celebrating a decade of looking ahead to the future of animation, gaming, and VFX.

As they do each year at the festival, they’re bringing together creators, executives, filmmakers, and industry leaders from around the globe for a day of thought-provoking conversations, inspiration, and community.

This year's program, Frame by Frame: A Global Celebration of Women and Nonbinary Creators, features four sessions:

Enduring Voices, Essential Work - Celebrating creators over 60 whose bold, relevant work continues to shape and influence the animation industry.

Directing Animation Today - Feature animation directors from around the world share insights into their creative process, current projects, and pathways to bringing stories to life.

Short Films and Fresh Perspectives - Festival-selected short film directors discuss creative risk-taking, experimentation, and the power of short-form storytelling.

From Then to Now: A Conversation with Bonnie Arnold - A special closing fireside chat with two-time Academy Award® nominee Bonnie Arnold, reflecting on her creative journey, WIA's evolution, and the future of the industry.

Join us on Monday, June 22 at the Impérial Palace Hotel in Annecy as we celebrate 10 years of the WIA World Summit and look ahead to the future of animation, gaming, and VFX.

WIA is also hosting its WIA Annecy Meetup, the community brings its lunch for a casual connect during the festival. Rain or shine, it will be held at Jardins de L’Europe on Wednesday, June 24 from 12:00–14:00.
