Realizm 800 to Power NEC Express Workstation

Wildcat Realizm 800 graphics technology from 3Dlabs has been selected by NEC to be incorporated in the TE6 ultra high-end graphics accelerator that powers the NEC Express workstation. The inclusion of Wildcat Realizm 800 graphics into the new TE6 graphics accelerator marks the first time that NEC has integrated third-party graphics technology into its TE-branded line of products. The Express workstation for CAD and broadcast video professionals will be available from NEC in Japan later this month.

"India and China are the two places where the action is going to be," Vishal Gondal, founder and director of Indiagames Ltd. "There is a great potential for Indian animation and gaming companies to create own IPR and then hit the global market in a big way.

Producers, artists, technical directors and digital puppeteers from Jim Henson's Creature Shop will demonstrate the new technology and share their experiences. The technology allows up to four CG characters to be controlled/directed in realtime producing actions as a real actor would and the same time be composited on to a background in realtime, which can be a completely realtime renderered 3D environment.
