Apple TV Drops ‘For All Mankind’ Season 5 Trailer

The 10-episode outing of the sci-fi space series continues its alt-history story in a new decade on Mars… and the locals are not happy; premieres March 27.

Apple TV has just debuted the trailer for Season 5 of For All Mankind, its hit alt-history sci-fi space drama series from creators Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. The 10-episode season will debut globally on Apple TV with one episode on Friday, March 27, followed by one new episode every Friday through May 29.

Season 5 is set in the 2010s, years after the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has grown into a colony with thousands of residents and serves as a base for new missions that extend further into the solar system. With nations on Earth demanding law and order on Mars, tensions build between those living on the Red Planet and their former home.

As the trailer shows, this is not your parents’ Mars…

Returning cast members include Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt. New series regulars joining the ensemble are Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz and Ines Asserson.

For All Mankind is created by Emmy Award winner Moore and Emmy Award nominees Wolpert and Nedivi. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive producers alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson and Seth Edelstein. The series is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.

So far, we know DNEG has been working on the visual effects. Season 4 studios included DNEG, Ghost VFX, MARZ, Barnstorm VFX and Bot VFX. The VFX supervisor may still be Jay Redd - still trying to confirm.

All four previous seasons of For All Mankind are streaming on Apple TV.
