Netflix has just announced the first two episodes of Season 2 of its hit series, One Piece, are sailing into 200 cinemas across the U.S., Canada, and Japan on March 10. Timed to the season’s global streaming premiere on Netflix, the limited engagement screenings will be held at 6 p.m. local time.
In the U.S. and Canada, tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET. Head here for the full list of theaters and showtimes in your area, and to download tickets. Theaters set to host these fan events in the U.S. include AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo and Cineplex, with additional theaters in Canada and Japan also joining in.
The new season, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, follows Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates as they venture into the Grand Line, a legendary and unpredictable stretch of sea that’s home to dangerous new adversaries, strange islands, and escalating challenges in the search for the world’s greatest treasure.
Season 2 is co-showrun by Matt Owens and Joe Tracz, who also serve as writers and executive producers. Executive producers include Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda. The returning cast includes Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar, and Charithra Chandran. Additional cast members joining the new season include Anton David Jeftha, Brendan Sean Murray, Callum Kerr, Camrus Johnson, Clive Russell, Daniel Lasker, David Dastmalchian, James Hiroyuki Liao, Jazzara Jaslyn, Joe Manganiello, Julia Rehwald, Katey Sagal, Lera Abova, Mark Harelik, Mark Penwill, Mikaela Hoover, Rigo Sanchez, Rob Colletti, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Sophia Anne Caruso, Ty Keogh, Werner Coetser, and Yonda Thomas.
The live-action series is created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix. It is based on Oda’s manga series, Japan’s highest-selling manga of all time, with more than 100 volumes and over 500 million copies sold worldwide.
Following its debut in 2023, One Piece spent eight weeks on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list, reached the number one position in more than 75 countries, including Japan, and became the first Netflix English-language series to debut at number one in Japan. The series has amassed nearly 100 million views and ranks among its most downloaded titles. The series has been renewed for a third season. The franchise has been positioned for year-round engagement beyond the screen, with an upcoming immersive experience set to open at Netflix House, as well as licensed consumer products tied to the series, including collaborations with LEGO and Moose Toys.
