Atiya Henry Named EVP of Production for Disney Branded Television

Former Netflix exec will oversee production across the organization’s animated and live-action slate, reporting to Carol Turner and joining Ayo Davis’ senior leadership team.

Atiya Henry has been named executive vice president of Production for Disney Branded Television, according to an announcement by DBT President Ayo Davis and Disney Entertainment Television Head of Production Carol Turner.

Henry will report to Turner and serve as a key member of Davis’ senior leadership team. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of production for Disney Branded Television’s portfolio of animated and live-action programming across Disney+, Disney Jr. and Disney Channel, guiding projects from development through delivery while supporting an expanding slate across multiple formats. Her oversight will include established and upcoming titles such as Descendants, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Phineas and Ferb, as she partners with creative and business leaders across the organization.

"Atiya is a highly accomplished production executive who knows how to bring ambitious storytelling to life," Davis and Turner said. "Her experience across a wide range of genres and her collaborative leadership style make her an ideal partner to our production and creative teams and partners as we continue to build the industry’s most ambitious slate for kids and families."

Henry joins Disney after seven years in physical production for Netflix’s drama division, where she oversaw series including Firefly Lane, Sweet Magnolias, Ransom Canyon, Raising Dion, and the upcoming reimagining of Little House on the Prairie, reflecting experience across multiple genres and formats.

Prior to Netflix, Henry held production leadership roles at Annapurna Pictures and BET Networks/Viacom, working across a range of scripted projects in domestic and international markets. Before entering the entertainment industry, she worked in the nonprofit sector, building a background in advocacy.
