Call for Entries: ANIMAGE Animation Film Festival

The Brazilian event, which celebrates its 15th edition October 7-12, is accepting submissions for its Competitive Short Film Screening; deadline is June 23.

ANIMAGE, the International Animation Festival of Pernambuco, is now accepting submissions for its Competitive Short Film Screening. The 15th edition will take place October 7 - 12 in Recife, Brazil. There are no entry fees, but submissions must be made exclusively via FilmFreeway by June 23.

The call is open to animated short films produced from 2024 onward, with a maximum runtime of 30 minutes. All entries will be evaluated by a Selection Committee and may be included in one of the 11 sessions of the Competitive Screening. One of the key additions this year is a dedicated category for student films which are produced in schools, courses, or universities.

ANIMAGE’s Competitive Screening honors films across multiple categories: Best Short Film – ANIMAGE Grand Prize (which includes a cash award), Best Children’s Short, Best Brazilian Short, Best Student Short, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction, Best Technique, and Best Sound. An Audience Award will also be granted, based on public voting during the festival.

The program also includes special screenings of short and feature-length films, workshops, masterclasses, and talks. Rec-Beat Produções and Leão Produções produce.
