Netflix has dropped a behind-the-scenes “Inside the Series” look at their hit animated comedy, Long Story Short, from BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The show has already been renewed for Season 2.
The often emotional, always funny series follows the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, jumping through time as it chronicles their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises.
Long Story Short stars Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, and Nicole Byer. Recurring guest stars include Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz.
In the featurette, Bob-Waksberg, Feldman, Byer, Greenfield, Cabral and Edelstein discuss the highly relevant, emotionally complex world of the show, sharing how the show's writing and use of time jumps expertly capture the messiness of life and memory. They also take a deeper look at the WGA-winning episode, “Shira Can’t Cook,” talking about how the Schwooper family's struggles with family traditions and grief make them so relatable.
Bob-Waksberg serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Lisa Hanawalt serves as supervising producer; Jack Shih serves as supervising director.
