Meta Media Entertainment appointed as global distributor of the preschool series that uniquely blends animatronics with 2D and 3D; new season premieres December 1 on CBC Kids and CBC Gem in Canada.
Gazelle Automations has announced the appointment of Meta Media Entertainment as global distributor of their preschool series Go Togo. Season 2 will premiere on CBC Kids and CBC Gem in Canada on December 1.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Meta Media to introduce Go Togo to kids around the world,” said co-creator Justin T. Lee.
“We think kids are going to have a lot of fun with Season 2,” added co-creator Lindsay Lee. “There’s a good mix of silly adventure and deeper character-driven stories that will really resonate with preschoolers.”
Go Togo follows young transit vehicles Togo the subway, Stella the streetcar, and Wheeler the bus as they pick up riders and explore the big city of Transitville. With the help of Hub the control tower, these young vehicles explore early preschool learning concepts, from socio-emotional themes to basic math problems.
“I was immediately captivated by this vibrant new series and am excited to bring Go Togo to an international audience and build on the success it has achieved with preschoolers in Canada,” said Sara Cooper, Founder of Meta Media Entertainment.
The series showcases a distinctive production style that blends live-action animatronics with 2D and 3D animation. Each vehicle character is a 3D-printed animatronic puppet, performed via remote control and designed with swappable face panels to show a range of expressions.
“Go Togo combines animatronics and handcrafted sets to bring a magical world to life,” said Drew Mullin, executive in charge of production, CBC Kids. “The series sparks curiosity while introducing preschoolers to early learning concepts, and we’re thrilled to be continuing into season two. We can’t wait for families to join us on the next adventure.”
Go Togo is a CBC Kids Original production, produced with the financial participation of the Canada Media Fund, the Shaw Rocket Fund, the IPF’s COGEGO Television Production Fund, and with film and television tax credit assistance from the Government of Ontario and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit. The Toronto-based team behind the series includes Lee as co-creator/executive producer and Justin T. Lee as co-creator/executive producer, Jeff Mackey as co-executive producer, Kanja Chen as supervising producer, and Bonnie Do as producer. For CBC, Sally Catto is General Manager, Entertainment, Factual and Sports; Marie McCann is Senior Director, Children’s Content, CBC Kids; and Mullin is executive in charge of production, CBC Kids.
