Multi-dimensional artist shares his multimedia project from the EP ‘From Ashes and Tears’ that includes a 2D animated short film created with Malika Whitaker, remixes by Chaos Studio and Michel CIRES, and a 45-page illustrated children’s book inspired by the film.
Multi-dimensional artist K Sensei has released Le Monde, a multimedia project that combines music, animation, and illustrated storytelling. Closing out the EP From Ashes and Tears, the release includes a 2D animated music video created in collaboration with singer, songwriter and visual artist Malika Whitaker, two just released remixes by Chaos Studio and Michel CIRES, and a 45-page illustrated children's book inspired by the world of the film.
Whitaker lends her voice to the track and co-directs the music video, using traditional 2D animation, which expands the song's themes of distance, loneliness, childhood memory, and emotional connection across time. Conceived as a complete work unfolding across multiple formats, the project combines music, imagery, and narrative into a single interconnected universe.
The 2D animated short follows two intertwined narratives. In the first, Atlas, portrayed by K Sensei, carries the world on his back like a marble statue weighed down by an immense burden. As he begins to crack under the pressure, a radiant figure known as the Star, portrayed by Whitaker, moves through space as a symbol of freedom, renewal, and transformation. She gathers Atlas's fragments, heals his fractures, and helps him rise until wings emerge from his back, transforming him from a bearer of weight into someone capable of ascent.
The second storyline returns to the characters' childhood inside a tropical greenhouse on Earth, where a young K cries alone until a young Malika comforts him and magically grows a flower as a symbol of tenderness and connection. Before disappearing, she receives a blue rose from him, creating an invisible thread that later reconnects them in another world where he becomes Atlas and she becomes the Star.
According to the artists, the music video presents an intimate mythological tale about loneliness, lost childhood, and emotional memory. Rather than offering complete repair, the story focuses on relief, transformation, and the possibility that emotional bonds can endure despite separation and diverging paths. K Sensei wrote the script and handled the storyboard and art direction. Whitaker produced the animation and handled post-production. The music video was produced by STUDIOS707.
The song itself explores the gradual emotional distance that can emerge between people who were once close, shaped by time, silence, and changing trajectories. Through fragmented and poetic imagery, Le Monde reflects on loneliness, memory, and the persistence of connection even as lives move apart.
Alongside the music and film release, K Sensei has also published an illustrated storybook adaptation available in French, with an English version available through Amazon in softcover and Kindle editions. The book reinterprets the narrative of the music video as a contemplative reading experience intended for both children and adults, further exploring themes of connection, transformation, and emotional memory through a combination of text and imagery.
