It’s finally here - the studio behind ‘Coraline’ shares its first extended look at the upcoming stop-motion fantasy feature directed by Travis Knight and based on the novel by Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis; in theaters October 23.

LAIKA has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Wildwood, its highly anticipated upcoming stop-motion feature directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler. The handcrafted fantasy adventure will open nationwide in theaters on October 23.

In the film, after her baby brother is abducted by a murder of crows, headstrong teenager Prue McKeel launches a desperate rescue mission into the Impassable Wilderness, an enchanted forest hidden beyond Portland, Oregon. Joined by her classmate Curtis Mehlberg, she encounters talking animals, bandits, and powerful figures driven by grief and ambition as the pair becomes entangled in a conflict threatening the balance of the forest itself. To save her brother and protect Wildwood's future, Prue must discover strength and belief she never knew she possessed… and risk everything.

The voice cast includes Carey Mulligan, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Richard E. Grant, Awkwafina, Amandla Stenberg, Tom Waits, Charlie Day, Blythe Danner, Arthur Knight, Maya Erskine, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Rob Delaney, Jemaine Clement, Marc Evan Jackson, Len Cariou, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, with Angela Bassett and Mahershala Ali.

Based on the novel by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis, Wildwood is produced by Knight alongside Sam Wilson. Fathom Entertainment will handle the film's theatrical release across the United States, while FilmNation Entertainment will represent the project in international territories.

Tickets for Wildwood in the United States will be available later this summer through Fathom Entertainment and participating theater box offices.
