Netflix has just announced Bass X Machina, a new adult animated series executive produced by and starring Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry. The show premieres October 6, 2026, on Netflix.
Set in a lawless steampunk West overrun by brutal outlaws, machines and supernatural terrors, the series follows a father forced to become judge, jury and executioner, knowing that every act of justice meant to protect his family may ultimately cost him the very people he is fighting to save.
The voice cast includes Tyree Henry as Bass; Janelle Monáe as Glory; Tati Gabrielle as Dana; Cree Summer as Ahni; Chaske Spencer as Lighthorse; Currie Graham as Rivenbark; and Starletta DuPois as Etta.
Executive producers are Tyree Henry, LeSean Thomas, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley and Chad Handley. Original music is by Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder at Wondaland. Animation is produced by Studio Mir.
Bass X Machina joins Netflix’s adult animation slate, which includes the Emmy Award-winning Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry, and the upcoming series Minecraft and Clash of Clans.
