Netflix Renews ‘Devil May Cry’ for Season 3

The hit animated series, adapted from the popular Capcom video game, gets picked up for a third and final season.

Netflix has just announced that its hit animated series, Devil May Cry, has been renewed for a third and final season. Season 2, which debuted May 12, remains in Netflix’s Global Top 10 List. Across two seasons, the show has appeared on the Netflix Global Top 10 for four weeks with Season 1 accumulating  21.7M views in 2025 and Season 2 already accumulating 6.4M views in just two weeks.

In this adaptation of the popular Capcom game, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.

Here’s the Season 2 trailer:

Regarding the renewal, showrunner Adi Shankar shares, “For those of you who have been paying attention to the episode names, I have been showing you the structure the entire time. This was always Dante’s Divine Comedy with guns and a red coat. Season 1 was Inferno. Season 2 was Purgatorio. Season 3 will be Paradiso. These three seasons make up ‘The Force Edge Saga.’ Since inception, ‘The Force Edge Saga’ was designed as a movie trilogy disguised as a television series.”
