Luah Garcia’s film, a collaboration with Studio Chifrezz featuring an original soundtrack by Kabuki Sonic, begs the question: What could possibly go wrong when a pizza delivery bee, an olive, a dramatic moth and a sun that’s been binge-studying animation pitches for months cross paths?
The official trailer has just dropped for Pizza Delivery, an animated short film created and directed by Luah Garcia, a collaboration with Studio Chifrezz that features an original soundtrack by Kabuki Sonic.
Pizza Delivery follows a pizza delivery bee, an olive, a dramatic moth and a sun that has been binge-studying animation pitches for months as their paths cross. The short was originally launched through a 2025 crowdfunding campaign on Catarse as the first step toward a future animated TV series.
The series project was born while Garcia was reading about bee extinction and eating vegetarian pizza with more than a thousand olives. The project has been selected for mentorship programs and markets including Criadoras do Ventana Sur 2022/2023, Nickelodeon Content Accelerator 2023/2024, Weird Market catalog 2024, Premios Quirinos 2024, Rio Market, Max Lab and Frapa, among other events. Funding and co-production are currently being sought.
The project brings together artists and animation studios from across the industry, including Cactus Kid Studio, and features the original voices of Andrei Duarte, Lena Franzz, Tiago Grigor and Leon Patusco. The screenplay is by Yumi Suzuki and Tiago Grigor, with art direction by Juan Cunha, storyboards by Dan Velez, Cunha and Thais Lima, and animation direction by Lena Franzz.
Cactus Kid is a Latin American, Brazilian animation studio that originated from a group of artists seeking to create their own stories. The studio has been run since 2022 by partners Grigor, Garcia and Cunha.
The short film was made possible by artists, animators, producers and collaborators, who will be introduced throughout the launch campaign. The full animated short is coming soon.
