Prime Video Drops ‘Jack Ryan: Ghost War’ Trailer

John Krasinski is back as crack shot / fearless patriot / hero / super-analyst Jack Ryan in the feature film continuation of the hit series; James Greer and Michale Kelly are back as well for a new insidious global espionage storyline; debuts May 20.

John Krasinski returns as the iconic CIA analyst in Jack Ryan: Ghost War, an all-new spy thriller film continuation of the Prime Video series that concluded after 4 nail-biting seasons in 2023. And this time, really… he’s not getting involved.

In the film, Ryan is pulled back into active duty when a covert international mission exposes a dangerous conspiracy involving a rogue black-ops unit. Reuniting with trusted allies Greer and November, and joined by Marlowe, the team navigates escalating threats across a global stage.

Ghost War reunites several key cast members from the series, including Wendell Pierce as James Greer, Michael Kelly as Mike November, and Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright. New additions include Sienna Miller, who plays MI6 officer Emma Marlowe, alongside Mckenna Bridger, Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge and JJ Feild. Yes that’s how it’s spelled.

Less there be any doubt, Ryan is also a really good shot, as witnessed in the slick new trailer:

The sixth installment in the broader Jack Ryan screen franchise, the film builds on the character originally created by prolific author Tom Clancy. A who’s who of Hollywood stars have portrayed the fearless super-analyst: Alec Baldwin in The Hunt for Red October, Harrison Ford in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger, Ben Affleck in The Sum of All Fears, and Chris Pine in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Krasinski first donned the titular moniker in 2019.

The film is directed by Andrew Bernstein; the screenplay is by Aaron Rabin and Krasinski, based on a story by Krasinski and Noah Oppenheim and characters created by Tom Clancy. The film is produced by Allyson Seeger, p.g.a., Krasinski, p.g.a., and Andrew Form; and executive produced by John J. Kelly, Alexa Ginsburg, Carlton Cuse, and Tom Clancy. So far, we know BlueBolt, Cadence Effects, and Union VFX are handling the visual effects.

Produced by Paramount Pictures, Skydance Media, Genre Arts, Push Boot and Sunday Night Productions, the film will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.

Jack Ryan: Ghost War premieres globally May 20 on Prime Video.
