Secret Weapons Announces EbSynth V2 Update

The Prague tech company’s VFX rotoscoping tool used on shows like ‘Undone’ and ‘Wednesday’ creates all in-between frames in any artistic style – oil paint, watercolor, pastel, and others

Secret Weapons has released an update for EbSynth, their VFX tool designed to automate rotoscoping in any style. The tool has been used for projects  like Undone, Wednesday, and Doctor Who.

EbSynth V2 boasts a new user interface with real-time preview, timeline, layers, and brushes. Users can paint directly on video and edit frames using AI prompts. However, the tool does not utilize AI to propagate edits. Instead, a texture synthesis algorithm preserves the keyframe content at pixel level.

EbSynth is made by VFX duo Šárka Sochorová and Ondřej Jamriška.
