Sony Shares ‘Anaconda’ Trailer… with Jack Black and Paul Rudd

Watch the pair at their ridiculous, hilarious best - they’re remaking the ‘Anaconda’ movie, but their snake dies, so they search for another one, which doesn’t go as planned; slithering into theaters December 25.

Sony has just dropped the trailer for its all-new, absurdly funny comedy, Anaconda, that slithers into theaters on December 25. The trailer is a gut-buster – we can only hope the actual film follows suit.

Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) have been best friends since they were kids, and have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic “classic,” Anaconda. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed...

In the hilarious trailer, you’ll see how Doug ends up getting used as bait... with a dead boar on his head... because while making their Anaconda movie, their anaconda gets killed so they need another one, which they have to hunt for… which doesn’t go according to plan. You with us so far? Oh, and Doug isn't dead. Sorry not sorry!

The film stars Black, Rudd, Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello. It's directed by Tom Gormican and written by Gormican and Kevin Etten.

All we know so far on the VFX is that ILM is involved. Making a very, very big CG snake.

From Columbia Pictures, in theaters December 25, 2025.
