Bill Hader and Bowen Yang star in the animated adaptation of the famed, whimsical Dr. Seuss tale of a mischievous, annoying, and irreverent cat who just won’t leave, in theaters November 6; from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has just shared that its upcoming animated comedy adventure, The Cat in the Hat, will now hit theaters on November 6, 2026, rather than the previously announced February 27, 2026 release date.
The film, written and directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, stars Bill Hader (Barry) as The Cat, alongside Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Bowen Yang (SNL), Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Matt Berry (What We Do in The Shadows) and Paula Pell (Girls5eva).
In the film, you meet the Cat in the Hat you don’t know! The studio shares, “In the wonderfully whimsical tradition of Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat comes to the big screen in his animated theatrical feature film debut, an all-new, epic adventure with an edge, where mischief, magic and mayhem reign supreme. Doing what he does best, the Cat — voiced by Bill Hader — spreads joy to kids in his hilarious, signature and singularly irreverent way, transporting them and audiences on a fantastical journey through a world they’ve never seen before. It is the first in a planned Warner Bros. Pictures Animation series of Dr. Seuss films, and features an innovative combination of animation styles.”
