ASIFA-Hollywood Sets ‘Meet and Greet’ at Annecy 2025

Get-together for ASIFA members and other chapters will be held on June 12 at 7 p.m. at Espace Détente.

Next week at Annecy 2025, ASIFA-Hollywood is hosting a global “Meet and Greet” for ASIFA members and other ASIFA chapters. The get-together is set for Thursday, June 12 at 7 p.m. CET, at Espace Détente.

Representing ASIFA-Hollywood at the festival will be Executive Director Aubry Mintz. “What makes this so incredible is that ASIFA was founded in 1960 in Annecy,” said Mintz. “Back then, working with UNESCO, ASIFA’s goal was to unite the animation world in peace by trying to find ways for animators from both sides of the Iron Curtain to meet in person. It is incredibly remarkable to see now over 40 chapters have developed since ASIFA’s inception (and more continuing to be created) and here we are 65 years later uniting back to where it all started.”

ASIFA-Hollywood is the world’s foremost professional organization dedicated to promoting the Art of Animation and celebrating the people who create it. Today, ASIFA-Hollywood, the largest chapter of the international organization ASIFA, supports a wide range of animation activities and preservation efforts through its membership. Current initiatives include the Animation Archive, Animation Aid Foundation, Animation Educators’ Forum (AEF), film preservation, open-source support, special events, screenings and the annual Annie Awards

Created in 1972 by veteran voice talent June Foray, the Annie Awards have grown in scope and stature for over five decades. For more information on ASIFA-Hollywood and the Annie Awards, please visit www.asifa-hollywood.org and www.annieawards.org.
