ASIFA-Hollywood has opened its call for entries and added a Best International Anime Production for TV/Media category; entries close November 30.

The Animation Educators Forum’s 6^th annual showcase is accepting entries through June 16; organization is seeking the best final student shorts of the year.

Organization’s Animation Educators Forum scholarships support students in completing their education in accredited college-level animation programs; deadline set for August 1. 

Maggie Kang, Chris Appelhans and Netflix’s blockbuster feature took home 10 wins, including Best Feature, while ‘Arco’ won for Best Independent Feature; ‘Common Side Effects’ led all TV shows with 4 wins, followed closely by ‘Win or Lose’ and ‘Love, Death + Robots’ with 3 each, at the animation industry’s gala event held last night at Royce Hall in Los Angeles.

New award funded by a $60,000 family gift will support emerging animation talent, recognizing and encouraging innovative animation artists whose work makes audiences laugh.

Best Animated Feature nominees ‘Elio,’ ‘Little Amélie or the Character of Rain,’ ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ ‘The Bad Guys 2,’ and ‘Zootopia 2’ top the expansive list of category nominations; animation’s biggest awards ceremony is scheduled to return live on Saturday, February 21 at UCLA’s Royce Hall

The annual event that recognizes the animation industry’s most talented artists and projects returns to UCLA’s Royce Hall on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Submissions run through November 9; next year’s ceremony is set for February 21, 2026 at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

Applications must be submitted by August 1 from undergraduate students entering their sophomore year or above, and from graduate students working towards degree completion.

Get-together for ASIFA members and other chapters will be held on June 12 at 7 p.m. at Espace Détente.
