‘Worst Cartoons Ever!’ returns July 23 with animation historian Jerry Beck presenting a lineup of unintentionally funny films; the July 25 Saturday morning cartoons panel will examine how the programming block shaped careers, studios and the animation industry.

Virtual membership benefits will now be available for people living outside of Southern California, including access to Annie Award voting.

Organization’s Animation Educators Forum awards support individuals or groups with their research, scholarly activity, or creative projects in animation; deadline set for May 22. 

The non-profit association of teachers and scholars has selected its latest class of noteworthy individuals who will join the virtual hall, dedicated to those whose teaching influenced the history of animation.

The annual event that recognizes the animation industry’s most talented artists and projects returns to UCLA’s Royce Hall on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Applications must be submitted by August 1 from undergraduate students entering their sophomore year or above, and from graduate students working towards degree completion.

Chris Sanders and DreamWorks’ blockbuster feature led the festivities with wins in 9 categories, while Netflix and Riot Games’ fan-favorite series took home 7, in a fun but emotional ceremony dedicated to victims of January’s tragic fires and highlighted by several tributes to LA’s firefighting finest, a real-time fundraiser, and 2 building-clearing false fire alarms.
