Marvel Studios has just released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, launching a new chapter for Peter Parker following the global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Set four years after the previous film, the story follows Peter as an adult living in isolation after erasing himself from the memories of those closest to him. Now operating as a full-time Spider-Man in a city that no longer recognizes him, he faces increasing pressure as his responsibilities intensify.
Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he's devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
The cast features Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, based on the Marvel comic book created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Producers include Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O'Connor, with Louis D'Esposito and David Cain serving as executive producers.
Visual effects work on the film is handled by Cause and FX, Clear Angle Studios, Framestore, and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31.
