Maxon Makes Autograph Team Licenses Free for Commercial Use

The leading content creation software company has expanded no cost access to its motion graphics, VFX and compositing application to studios, agencies, educators, brands, and creative organizations of any size.

Maxon has just announced that Autograph team licenses will be free for commercial use, expanding access to its motion graphics, VFX, and compositing application for studios, agencies, educators, brands, and creative organizations of any size. The move follows the company's recent free release for individual users and extends access to collaborative professional workflows. Autograph team licenses are now available here.

"Autograph's launch has sparked one of the most enthusiastic community responses we've seen," said David McGavran, CEO of Maxon. "Creators are telling us they want intuitive, modern tools without sacrificing professional quality and capabilities. By making Autograph free for team collaboration, we're shaping the future of motion design and visual storytelling."

Autograph combines 2D animation, compositing, and 3D capabilities in a unified environment designed for motion graphics and visual effects work. The application supports USD, OpenEXR, ACES, OpenColorIO, and OpenFX, and integrates with Universe plugins and select Red Giant tools. Supported Red Giant integrations include Magic Bullet Looks, Cosmo II, Mojo II, Optical Flow, Real Lens Flare, Renoiser, Shine, and Starglow.

It also launches with support for third-party OpenFX plugins from RE:Vision Effects, BorisFX, and Digital Anarchy, available through their respective marketplaces.

According to the company, Autograph team licenses can be used free of charge for commercial projects without output limitations, time restrictions, or seat-count limitations tied to existing team license agreements. The company said command line functionality and Python support are included in the free license.

Maxon said the program is designed for motion designers, compositors, 2D and 3D artists, and content creators working across modern production pipelines. Teams can use the software to create animated graphics and typography, combine 2D and 3D elements, composite and refine shots, and produce responsive compositions for multiple output formats.

Autograph users also receive access to Maxon's Cineversity training library, including onboarding tutorials and the Introduction to Maxon Autograph training series led by Chad Perkins.

Maxon makes powerful software solutions for content creators working in 2D and 3D design, motion graphics, visual effects and visualization. Product lines include the award-winning Cinema 4D suite of 3D modeling, simulation and animation technology; the diverse Red Giant lineup of editing, motion design and filmmaking tools; the leading-edge, fast Redshift renderer; and ZBrush, the industry-standard digital sculpting and painting solution available on desktop and on the iPad.
