Early Access begins May 19 on the company’s production system designed to help studios turn existing assets into episodic series and films while maintaining artistic control and IP integrity.
Nura Studios has just announced that its animation production platform, Showcraft, will enter Early Access on May 19, introducing its system designed to help game and animation studios convert existing characters, environments, and production assets into episodic series and films. Built around human-created intellectual property rather than prompt-based generation, the platform aims to preserve the emotional depth and artistic intent of source material while enabling new storytelling formats.
Showcraft integrates story development, pre-production, visual and voice creation, and final editing within a single environment. The platform is powered by fine-tuned AI models designed to work from artist-created assets, reducing production friction and lowering barriers to entry while maintaining control and consistency. Its workflow is designed to manage the complexity of AI processes behind the scenes and avoid the generic outputs often associated with generative tools.
"Game studios and publishers are constantly finding new ways to engage players and grow their worlds, while animation studios are pushing to deliver more stories at a higher cadence," said Sylvio Drouin, CEO and co-founder of Nura Studios. "There is so much creative value that already exists inside worlds and IP. With Showcraft, teams can extend their characters, environments, and production assets into episodic storytelling unlocking new formats for engagement without starting over. Machines have no talent, humans do. Showcraft is built to amplify that talent."
Nura Atelier, the company's in-house creative studio, uses Showcraft to produce episodic content for select partners. The team includes Emmy and Academy Award-winning talent across writing, directing, animation, and voice, combined with AI-focused production expertise. The studio also emphasizes rights management and intellectual property protection throughout the production process.
Nura Studios was founded by executives with extensive experience in real-time technology, AI, and creative tools at companies including Unity, Roblox, Adobe, Apple, Softimage, Canva, and Disney. Drouin previously served as Senior Vice President at Unity Technologies, leading advanced research and AI initiatives. CTO Gabriele Farina spent a decade shaping the architecture of the Unity engine, while chairman and co-founder Stefano Corazza, PhD, Head of AI Research at Canva and former Head of Roblox Studio and AR at Adobe, brings deep expertise in AI and immersive media.
The company has raised seed funding from iGlobe Partners, Fellows Fund, and Shanda Ventures to support development of its AI-enabled creative platform. Nura Studios said it plans to expand its platform, creator ecosystem, and production capabilities over time. Studios can join the Early Access waitlist through the company's website, and partnership inquiries for Nura Atelier are open via direct contact.
