Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans’ hit musical comedy nabs wins for both Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, while James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ sequel gets the nod for Best Visual Effects; Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski’s ‘The Girl Who Cried Pearls’ named Best Animated Short.

James Cameron’s epic ‘Avatar’ sequel takes home 7 wins, including Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature, while Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ led the animation categories with 3.

‘Wicked: For Good,’ ‘Andor,’ ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ and ‘Stranger Things’ also win at The Advanced Imaging Society celebration, often called the ‘Oscars for Geeks,’ held earlier this afternoon at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

‘Elio,’ ‘Little Amélie or the Character of Rain,’ and ‘Zootropolis 2 (Zootopia 2)’ get the nod for Animated Film with ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ ‘F1,’ ‘Frankenstein,’ ‘How to Train Your Dragon,’ and ‘The Lost Bus’ selected for Special Visual Effects.

‘Arco,’ ‘Elio,’ ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ ‘Little Amélie or the Character of Rain,’ and ‘Zootopia 2’ nab noms for Best Animated Feature, while ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ ‘F1,’ Jurassic World: Rebirth,’ ‘The Lost Bus,’ and ‘Sinners’ get the nod for Best Visual Effects.  

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ scores nods for best animated feature, best cinematic and box office achievement, and best original song, while ‘Arco,’ ‘Demon Slayer,’ ‘Elio,’ ‘Little Amélie or the Character of Rain’ and ‘Zootopia 2’ are all nominated for best animated motion picture; awards ceremony set for January 11.
